Rangoli Art with our Buddy Class.

Last Friday together with our buddy class, room 17, we drew Rangoli art to celebrate Diwali.
Diwali is the Indian Festival of Light.  It is held in late October or early November and celebrates the beginning of the Indian New Year.  The celebrations last for five days.  During the first day of Diwali, Rangoli patterns are made.  These are put by the front door to welcome visitors.  Sweets are also made and given out to family and friends. 

On the third day, divas are lit and put around your home.  These are little lights.  Later in the evening, fireworks are lit.  The fourth day is New Year’s Day. 

The last day of Diwali is Bhai Beej.  This is a special day for brothers and sisters.

After the five days the new year has begun.

Special Terrific Person and Values Person - Week 2

Our Special Terrific Person for week 2 is MD for fantastic work with his writing as well as trying hard to complete his work on time.  Our Values person is MH for showing great determination with her reading and writing.  Well done MD and MH.  You guy's rock!

Special Term Certificate Term 3

Our CM has earned Term 3's Special certificate for working hard and doing her best in everything she does all the time.  She also earned the Values Leaf for co-operation.  Awesome work and well done CM.  We are all so proud of you!

Happy Holidays from Room 10

We have been so busy this term learning even more than we did last term!  We're off for a well deserved break.  Have a fun and safe holiday.  See you next term!

Transport Day

On Thursday 27th September, we all enjoyed a fun filled day of 'transport activities'.

Our first activity was in the sandpit with our 'small wheels'.

The sandpit is the BEST!

Next, it was over to the hall to play with Thomas and his friends.

Wow! We all agree, Thomas, you and your friends are the BEST!

Thank you Mrs Thompson for bringing Thomas and his friends to school.

After Thomas, it was our turn to ride our cool scooters and bikes.

Yay! We love this day!

We all think riding our bikes and scooters is just the Bees Knees!

Although it was a bit tricky for some of us making these darts, we had an awesome time flying them!

Everything we did today was fun fantastic!

We loved Transport Day 2012.
