Jolly Jar's Fundraising for our Twilight Gala

On Friday we could wear mufti to school if we brought in a 'Jolly Jar'.  These are jars that can be filled with anything like lollies, beads, stamps or something 'jolly'.  We had to use our imagination.  We had to decorate them so they would look appealing for other people to buy at our Gala.  So come along on the
23 November from 5.00 - 8.00pm and support Botany Downs Primary with fundraising for
updated Reading Resources.
A very worthy cause, don't you think?

Room 10's shared Assembly with Room 17

On Friday it was our turn to present assembly with our buddy class - room 17.  After 5 practices we were feeling quite excited although a little nervous about speaking in front of everyone else including our Mums and Dads.  We all did extremely well and feel very proud about standing up to speak, presenting our poems and singing 'Count on Me'.  We can't wait to do it again.

Special Terrific Person and Value Person - Week 3

Rangoli Art with our Buddy Class.

Last Friday together with our buddy class, room 17, we drew Rangoli art to celebrate Diwali.
Diwali is the Indian Festival of Light.  It is held in late October or early November and celebrates the beginning of the Indian New Year.  The celebrations last for five days.  During the first day of Diwali, Rangoli patterns are made.  These are put by the front door to welcome visitors.  Sweets are also made and given out to family and friends.
On the third day, divas are lit and put around your home.  These are little lights.  Later in the evening, fireworks are lit.  The fourth day is New Year’s Day.
The last day of Diwali is Bhai Beej.  This is a special day for brothers and sisters.
After the five days the new year has begun.
